My stay at the East Village Hotel was quite mixed. The location was fantastic for exploring the vibrant area, but the room experience left much to be desired. The check-in process felt impersonal, and I encountered several issues that made my stay less enjoyable than anticipated.

Rooms
5.0
The room had a cozy vibe, but it was smaller than I expected and came with some unpleasant surprises. The kitchenette had limited utensils, and I found it hard to relax knowing there were issues with cleanliness and comfort.
Service
5.0
The service was not what I hoped for. The virtual check-in felt awkward, and I didn't feel adequately supported when I encountered problems.
Location
9.0
The East Village location was amazing. It was close to shops and restaurants, making exploring easy and fun.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were limited and not very appealing, with the cafe staff seeming quite indifferent to the hotel guests. I ended up looking for better options nearby instead.
Facilities
5.0
The lack of on-site facilities was quite disappointing. I had to manage without baggage storage which made my check-out process complicated, and the rooms could use some updates.

7.2/10

I had a great stay at East Village Hotel overall, enjoying the boutique feel and the vibrant surroundings. The location is fabulous, with lots of yummy eats nearby. While my room was cozy and well-equipped, I did notice some maintenance issues that could use attention. The staff was friendly and responsive to my needs, which was a definite plus!

Rooms
7.0
The room was small but functional, with comfortable bedding and plenty of natural light. However, I noticed some scuffing on the walls and issues with bathroom fixtures like towel and toilet paper holders that looked a bit worn. Overall, it felt cozy but could benefit from some freshening up.
Service
9.0
The staff members were very accommodating and quick to help with any issues I encountered, from changing stained sheets to providing a late checkout as an apology. Their responsiveness made my stay much more pleasant.
Location
10.0
The location in the East Village is fantastic, right in the heart of a lively area filled with restaurants and shops. Being close to public transport made it easy to explore other parts of New York City. I loved being near local favorites like Davey's Ice Cream and Black Seed Bagels.
Dining

I enjoyed breakfast at The Bean, which was just below my room. The cafe offered a nice selection of coffee and pastries, perfect for starting the day before heading out.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had a charming, boutique feel, though the common areas and some room fixtures could use a little extra care and updating. The cleanliness was generally good, but I noted some minor maintenance issues that detracted from the overall experience.

7.2/10

My stay at the East Village Hotel was quite enjoyable overall, thanks to its fantastic location and the convenience of having a kitchenette. However, I did notice that the cleanliness of the room and some aspects of the facilities could use improvement.

Rooms
7.0
The room felt spacious for New York and the kitchenette was a lifesaver for making breakfast and lunch. However, some areas looked worn down, like the bedding and some furniture. I appreciated the wood floors and exposed brick, which added a cozy touch.
Service
6.0
The check-in process was smooth as I received the codes ahead of time. However, I found the staff to be somewhat unwelcoming, which gave a slightly awkward vibe during my stay.
Location
10.0
The location is a major perk! I loved being walking distance to so many bars, restaurants, and shops. The nearby Astor Place subway station made it easy to explore more of the city.
Dining
8.0
Dining was convenient with a kitchenette in the room, which I utilized for breakfast. There were great eateries around, and I discovered a cute coffee shop just a few minutes away.
Facilities
6.0
While there’s a laundromat nearby and luggage storage was provided after checkout, the room could have used better maintenance. There were issues like chipped cabinets and a noisy refrigerator.

5.2/10

I had a stay that emphasized location and comfort, but it was not without its downsides. The East Village was vibrant, with lots of dining options, which I enjoyed, and the beds were comfortable. However, the noise from the street was a constant issue, and I found it hard to deal with the lack of staff and some maintenance problems in my room.

Rooms
5.0
My room was small and showed signs of age, with dusty storage spaces and a cramped bathroom. The furnishings were basic, and the shower was tiny, which made it feel even more uncomfortable. It could have been better considering the rate I paid.
Service
5.0
I found the service to be lacking, mainly due to the understaffing. Housekeeping did not come through during my stay, and I had issues with towels not being replaced. The absence of staff at crucial times added to the frustration.
Location
9.0
The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the East Village, surrounded by great bars and restaurants. I loved being able to walk to nearby attractions and public transport options easily.
Dining
8.0
Dining options in the area were abundant, with many eateries just a short walk away. I appreciated the convenience of having a kitchenette in my room for quick meals.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were basic, including a kitchen and a fridge in the room, but they were not well-maintained. Also, I was surprised to find that basic items, like water bottles, came with a charge.

I had a fairly enjoyable stay at East Village Hotel, highlighted by its fantastic location with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The room offered a cozy vibe with a convenient kitchenette, although there were some maintenance issues and noise disturbances that affected my overall experience. Despite these drawbacks, I found it to be a decent option for a budget-friendly stay in NYC. 😊

Rooms
6.0
The room was compact, clean, and had a nice street view. It included a kitchenette which was really convenient, but the mattress could use replacement as it felt quite worn out. Also, the refrigerator was intermittently loud and made it hard to sleep well.
Service
5.0
While check-in was smooth and quick, communication could be improved. I wasn't informed about the complimentary breakfast until I asked, and I flagged some dirty pillow cases on the first night that needed attention.
Location
9.0
The location is absolutely unbeatable! Right in the heart of East Village, I enjoyed easy access to amazing local eateries and coffee spots like The Bean next door. It's perfect for anyone who wants to explore the vibrant neighborhood.
Dining
8.0
Having the kitchenette was a lifesaver! I could prepare breakfast and even dine in on some evenings. While I did not try the breakfast provided, I appreciated the flexibility of making my own meals.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities are decent but could benefit from some tender loving care. The bathroom hardware needed repairs, and there were no safe storage options. However, the room had adequate heating.
